Southern Districts Rebelettes

Congratulations to our very own Southern Districts Rebelettes who were crowned Premiers of the NSW Women’s 7s Rugby Competition for 2019.

Congratulations to our very own Southern Districts Rebelettes who were crowned Premiers of the NSW Women’s 7s Rugby Competition for 2019.

This is a fantastic achievement by the Rebelettes squad, led by Team Captain Olivia White, Women’s Club Captain Kieran Berry and Head Coach Chris Nay, in only their second season in the competition.

Managing Director Athena Koelmeyer said,

“We are so happy for all the players who worked hard all year. We are particularly proud of their commitment to giving each other their best effort, no matter who they were up against, in every game. They truly epitomise what it means to be a superstar team and not a team of superstars!

These players will be forever bonded together as the FIRST Rebelettes to win a major rugby trophy – I have no doubt they will inspire many young girls to play rugby sevens.”

Workplace Law Director Shane Koelmeyer said,

“Chris and his coaching staff have done a tremendous job building a culture that is enjoyable to be a part of and also allows the squad to train and play with a high level of diligence towards improving their skills. A coach’s primary role is to make players better by the end of the season and Chris has done that – the evidence is in the 14 girls (the most from a single club in Australia) who have made various teams in the 2019 AON Universities Sevens Series.

The Rebelettes are wonderful members of Workplace Law’s Female Champions Program and we are delighted to have been a part of their journey this season. We look forward to building on this success together with them in 2020 to make the Rebelettes’ program the best women’s rugby sevens club program in Australia.”
