Workplace Law excited to announce new partnership

Workplace Law’s Female Champions program has rapidly grown in recent years as we continue to support women of all ages to be able to access and play the sports they love and/or to fulfill their dreams of being professional athletes.

Workplace Law’s Female Champions program has rapidly grown in recent years as we continue to support women of all ages to be able to access and play the sports they love and/or to fulfill their dreams of being professional athletes.

We are tremendously proud of our existing ‘Champion’ athletes and teams and are excited to announce that 2020 will see our firm extend our partnership across the entire Sydney Roosters’ women’s rugby league program including the following:

  • U18 Indigenous Academy (Tarsha Gale Cup)
  • Central Coast Roosters (Harvey Norman Women’s NSW Premiership)
  • Sydney Roosters (NRLW)

Another ‘first’ for the Sydney Roosters

Roosters COO Jarrod Johnstone was pleased to announce this new all-encompassing partnership across the women’s teams:

“Having a partner solely supporting our women’s teams is a first for the Club and something that excites me for the future of the game for females in Australia.

The ability to attract corporate support at the top level will provide a strong base for growth and ultimately, provide a trickle-down effect that will hopefully increase junior participation leading to future stars and role models.”

Workplace Law’s CEO and Director, Shane Koelmeyer said:

“As one of the best run Clubs in any code in terms of their culture, values and on/off field success the Sydney Roosters are synonymous with the phrase ‘consistently excellent’ – something all businesses and people should strive to be.

Importantly they have an unwavering commitment to supporting female players, particularly indigenous players, in terms of education, coaching and pathways – that makes the Sydney Roosters a fantastic partner for Workplace Law in terms of brand and values alignment.”

We asked some of our employees to share their thoughts on what this partnership means to them…

“At Workplace Law, we care passionately about equality, inclusiveness and raising up young women to achieve great things and so it’s a privilege to be involved with the Sydney Roosters and a program that shares our values and hopes for a better, brighter future particularly for young indigenous girls.”
- Nicola Josey

“Having grown up in an absolutely NRL-crazed family, where it didn’t matter what gender you were as long as you loved rugby league, it makes me incredibly proud to say that we are partnering with a Club that creates so many opportunities for women to become involved in the game. Rugby league has positively shaped my life and values and I hope it does the same for many more girls and women.”
- Emily Regidor

"As a supporter of the Sydney Roosters from a young age, I never thought that my future professional life as a lawyer would have any connection to such a great club. In starting my law career at Workplace Law, I saw many of the values in the firm that attracted me as fan of the Sydney Roosters: the pursuit of excellence, hard work, diligence and professionalism. It is fantastic to see two things that I am passionate about: the Sydney Roosters and Workplace Law come together to support women’s rugby league.”
- Lara Pascuzzo

All of us at Workplace Law want to congratulate Sydney FC’s W-League Captain, Teresa Polias on playing in her 150th game for the Sky Blues in a fantastic 2-0 win against the Western Sydney Wanderers. Not only is Teresa an amazing player, she is also a wonderful leader - humble but also determined, hardworking, competitive and loyal. Teresa also shows other athletes that, while challenging at times, it is possible to ‘do it all’ by playing professional sport and building a successful career off the field.
