As part of our growing sports law practice, we are pleased to confirm that Workplace Law is now a member of the National Sports Tribunal Legal Assistance Panel. Our firm is delighted to provide expert support, legal advice and representation to sporting bodies and individuals in relation to disputes before theNational Sports Tribunal (NST).
The NST offers a range of dispute resolution options to help national level sporting bodies and their participants resolve disputes efficiently and affordably. There are 3 divisions of the NST:
Anti-Doping Division – deals with breaches of the anti-doping rules of a sport.
General Division – deals with other disputes under the rules of a sport (including, for example, disputes that might arise under a sport's Member Protection Policy).
Appeals Division – deals with appeals from the Anti-Doping or General Divisions, as well as appeals from decisions made by ‘in-house’ sport tribunals.
The NST is managed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Boultbee AM and is supported by a Registry within the Australian Government Department of Health.
Our Managing Director Athena Koelmeyer, was recently interviewed for the long-running Business Essentials podcast, about what happens when employees resist returning to the office.
It is natural for some fatigue to linger into 2021 following an eventful 2020 and as we await the vaccine roll out. However, as we start the new work year (wherever ‘work’ may be for us in the current pandemic), it is a great time to start building new habits to help us remain healthy, energised and motivated throughout 2021.
